This movie combines the legendary Steven Spielberg with geek favorite J. J. Abrams (LOST, Star Trek, Alias…) in a summer blockbuster that is sure to become an instant classic. The premise is out there for you to read if you so choose, but I am under the opinion that this is one movie you don’t want to spoil. The film gets its name from the super 8 consumer film cameras that were used a few decades ago, before video cameras were in everyone’s pocket. From the trailers alone, it seems very much in the same vein as the classic Close Encounters of the Third Kind, but with J. J. Abrams’ eye in the director’s chair. Without a doubt, this will be on the top of my must-see summer movie list.

After a ridiculous 14-year development cycle, Duke Nukem Forever is finally coming, we will once and for all have it in our hands, and our consoles. Maybe. To be quite honest, this is one of video gaming’s great mythical creatures, and I am not going to write more than this on something that may or may not actually come out. Yes, yes, I know that Gearbox says it will… but I won’t be convinced until after I have bought a copy, unwrapped it, put it in my console, played it, and then finished it.

Yes, it is finally confirmed, George Lucas has apperently not finished rubbing his fingers all over his movies in post production grime. Love it or hate it, it is going to happen. This will be the first of the six movies to to undergo a post-stereoscopizing of its original form and will either prove that 3d remastering is really worthwhile, or if (like the majority of sane humans assume) 2D movies should be left to the dimensions they were created for. Despite my worries, I will begrudgingly be there on February 10th, 2012 to view Jar Jar Binks in all his three dimensional glory… and let’s face it… you will too.

I’ve mentioned several times in previous areas of the site that their last game, Comic Jumper, was hilarious and overall a fun experience, but not without numerous faults. I have high hopes, however, that this next game will be just as enjoyable as the original Splosion Man, and hopefully we will get to hear more tunes from their always amazing audio team.

Recently (as in yesterday) Twisted Pixel Games announced their next game. Ms. Splosion Man is sure to cause many controller-shaped holes in walls across the world, and I for one couldn’t be more excited. After beating every single player level, finding every cake, and even delving into the multiplayer, 2011 couldn’t come sooner. More information about this game will be posted as it arrives.

In 1997 Director Barry Sonnenfeld brought Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith together in an unlikely pairing to save the world. Based on the comic book series of the same name, Men in Black became a sci-fi classic still adored by fans today. In 2002 the fantastic duo joined forces yet again, with neuralizers and noisy crickets in hand. A decade later, science fiction enthusiasts will have the pleasure of enjoying yet another mission with the MIB in 2012 (pending the possible end of the world, of course). This time, however, fans will enjoy seeing aliens explode IN THREE D! We won’t know if this addition to the franchise will become yet another beloved classic, or an insult to MIB fans everywhere, but we are itching to find out.

I was one of the fortunate to get my hands on the Resident Evil 5 demo, I must stress even upon myself that its just a demo, one that wasn’t even officially released in the US, so pardon my bitching. First let me say that I’m a die-hard Resident Evil fan, like Resident evil poster over my bed and a Clair Redfield action figure on my desk, huge RE nerd. The Controls are pretty much the same as RE 4 just modded for the 360, which is great. If you loved RE 4, you’ll love this, it’s RE 4 with a new skin. Great new enemies, scary as hell environments, and beautiful as always, something Capcom always delivers on. Alas, this demo has been a pretty large disappointment. The controls are sluggish, the AI is a pain in the ass, and your “partner” is an ammo-stealing bitch! Your partner is constantly in your way and never fails to pick up the ammo or gold you were gong to grab once you’ve made sure the room is clear. And make no mistake she doesn’t share. Even in RE 4 I didn’t feel like Ashley was a nuisance, but Sheva or whatever is really a bother, and caused me to run low on ammo and miss out on herbs I would gladly pass on to her if she needed it. I miss the old days of searching around alone and too freaked out to enter the next room. True it’s a demo, and I’m sure a lot of the issues will be cleared up upon its release in March, but thus far its just a rent for me. But honestly I’ll buy it I’ve been waiting too long.
